I was born and raised in Greater London, England. There are 4 of us in my family – mum, dad + brother.
My parents are of Indian origin; mum was born in Greater London, too, and Dad moved to Birmingham, UK when he was 3. Mum is eldest of 5, Dad is youngest of 7. I am blessed to have been raised with privilege, choices and opportunity in my life. My parents have both set me an incredible example, and taught me some valuable lessons as I’ve grown up. (I’m 28 now, and still learning…).
My brother is 5 years younger, and I prayed for him. I had always wanted a baby brother, and that’s what our family was blessed with. He’s bigger than me now, but he’ll always be the little brother. We don’t wear the same clothes anymore (thanks mum), but our relationship continues to grow and I feel we are getting closer as the years go by.
I am an empowered introvert, who has always been fascinated by people and I enjoy nothing more than an episode of Columbo after a busy day when I need to wind down.
So, born in England, of Indian origin. I am a Sikh, brought up in the faith, with Sikhi philosophy resonating strongly with me. Above all, of course, I’m human.
If you want to find out more about my story and what I’ve done so far, you can read about that here.
